Ersekë, Albania — A great and inspiring event took place this summer as Albania hosted its first-ever Christian football camp. The camp was organized by “Light for Albania” church in collaboration with F3 (Faith, Football, Fellowship), bringing together sports, faith, and life-changing conversations.
A Unique Blend of Football and Faith
Held in the mountain town of Ersekë, the camp welcomed 30 young people from across Albania and 11 Christian football players and pastors from England. For many of the Albanian youth, this was their first exposure not only to an international-style sports camp but also to the Christian faith.
The English players, who are both athletes and believers, used their time on and off the field to share personal testimonies about their faith in Jesus Christ. Through conversations, team devotionals, and evening talks, participants were invited to consider deeper questions about life, purpose, and God.
Gospel Impact in Unexpected Places
One of the most remarkable aspects of the camp was its spiritual impact. Some of the youth who attended had never heard the Gospel before. But by the end of the camp, three young people made a public decision to follow Jesus, expressing a clear desire to start attending church and grow in their faith.
“This camp changed my life,” said one of the new believers. “I came for football, but I found something I didn’t know I needed—hope in Jesus.”
